Redneck Radioman Royce Holleman

Thanks to the internet you too can host your own talk radio show! Blogtalkradio.com is a website that allows users to create and host their own radio call-in shows that can be listened to live and archived as podcasts later. A man going by the name of Redneck Radioman Royce Holleman hosts a very amateurish and poorly researched show called Paranormal Palace on blogtalkradio.com. The fact that it is so poorly researched is really mind boggling, I know this man has a computer. He doesn’t seem to do any kind of research before he logs in and opens up the nut-phone. Anything and everything  metaphysical or paranormal seems to be fair game for Holleman’s topics.

Giorgio Tsoukalos appeared on Mr. Holleman’s program on October 5th to promote his mentor, Erich von Däniken’s newest book Twilight of the Gods, and to plug the second season of Ancient Aliens coming soon to the History Channel. It was pretty funny at first because the Redneck Radioman dropped the call, called the cell phone back and got an irritated Mr. Tsoukalos to reluctantly give the main number to the his hotel from where he was calling as Royce lamented that he didn’t know how to mute the show. C’mon “Radioman”, how long have you been doing this dumb show? Tsoukalos decided to just stay on his cell despite less the than perfect reception. Once the show finally got off of the ground, Mr. Tsoukalos started to marvel at the “mysterious” construction of Pumapunku. His distrust of scholars became immediately apparent when he said he doesn’t believe professors that say it was made with “chicken bones and obsidian” because of how massive and smooth the stones are at Pumapunku. What makes more sense to him is a “liquidification of the granite at the site that was poured into molds to produce the blocks.” The stones at the site are made of red sandstone and andesite, both which can be cut and polished both today as well as in the ancient world. Just because we cannot say at the moment exactly how something happened or was constructed, it does not mean that there is a supernatural cause for it. Tsoukalos makes quite a leap of logic that because he thinks that aliens must have melted and molded the stones for the temple for some even more mysterious reason.

On the bright side, Giorgio Tsoukalos does not buy into the whole 2012 doomsday bit. He talks at length about how ridiculous the whole thing is which was strangely refreshing coming from him. It’s really funny that he will trust the work of historical scholars in reference to the lack of accuracy of the Gregorian calendar and the different Mayan calendars, but not the work of modern Archaeologists. He also addresses his claim that it was impossible to operate cigarette lighter in the darkness of the great pyramid from the first Ancient Aliens special. He is still wrong about the science of it, but explains it away as the lighter needs a higher oxygen content to produce a flame than a person needs to breath. If the oxygen level was really that low, no one would be able to go in with out a breathing apparatus. What about centuries of torch light in the same exact area? I really don’t know who is worse Holleman with his crappy show or Tsoukalos with his crappy theories.

Definitely do yourself a favor and avoid this mess of a show unless you need a cheap laugh. So far, the only good thing about blogtalkradio.com is that it is free.
